Beltane Ritual

Beltane is  the celebration of the union of the Goddess and the God, and the fertility of the earth .

Fill your cauldron about 3/4 to the top with water and let a few white flowers (daises or lilies work well) float on top
Invoke the gods
kneel before the altar and say the following or similar:

"Great Glorious Mother, Grand and Powerful Father, now is the time of your union, the time when life is born again unto the earth. Soon the land will sing with the beauty of rebirth, and for this, I owe you my gratitude."

Rise and say:

"Blessed is the Spring"

"Blessed is the love"

"Blessed is the union"

Dip the end of you wand or athame in to the cauldron, symbolizing the completion of the act of physical love between the God and the Goddess. Feel the fertility of the earth. Remove the athame/wand and say:

"Blessed be!"

Thank the gods.
Close the circle.
It may be a good idea to leave some kind of gift (a small gem or coin) by the base of a tree before leaving, as a sort of "wedding present"  for the Goddess and God.
