Full Moon Esbat

The Full Moon Esbat is the mothly celebration of the Goddess at her height of power. This ritual should be held (obviously) under the light of the full moon.

• Cast the circle
• Invite the gods
• Stand before your altar in Goddess position (legs strait with feet shoulder length apart and arms above your head in a 'Y' position)
• See and feel the moonbeams sinking into your body.
• Say the following words or similar:
  

  "Wondrous Lady of the Moon
  You whou greets the dusk with silvered kisses;
  Mistress of the night and of all magicks,
  who rides the clouds in blackened skies
  and spills light upon the cold earth;
  O Lunar Goddess,
  Crescented-One,
  Shadow maker and shadow breaker;
  Reveler of mysteries past and present;
  Ruller of seas and ruler of women;
  All-wise Lunar Mother,
  I greet you celestial jewel
  at the waxing of it's powers
  with a rite in your honor.
  I pray by the moon..."

• Continue chanting "I pray by the moon" whilevisualizing the Goddess.
• Now is an excelent time for magick of all kinds, especially mirror magick, and psychic workings.
• The ritual is complete.

Notes:The above ritual was taken (more or less) from Scott Cunningham's book Wicca: A guide for the solitary practitioner. I have never personally written any rituals which sound as beautiful as do his, nor have I ever read any as well written. For those of you who have never read any of Scott Cunningham's work, I HIGHLY recommend it. Cunnigham had a way of writing that was just perfect, and it makes the reader feel like s/he is reading for pleasure more than for knoweledge.
